Hello and welcome to Day 4 of Whimsy Stamps March Rubber & Die Release Showcase!

Hello again!  It's a super fun day for me when I get out the water color pencils!  Sometimes I can't remember why I ever color with any other medium?  I love the blending, the soft shading and wonder way that the colors lay on top of the paper for me to move around as I see fit!  This little Birthday bag is no exception!  I think I'm in love with the thick, glittery, bright and colorful new paper as well.  You may be seeing a lot more of it in the future from this blogger!  Hope you enjoy!

A Die For A Sketch Challenge

I've made a more simple but elegant project today with a water color image I've had about a year now!  The Fairy doodler image is one of my favorites and as I usually only have enough time to color up the images available at Whimsy Stamps or create with Shape EZ templates, I took real pleasure in presenting her to you!  I couldn't wait to use it with some of the beautiful papers from the Creative Papers Online store in Ann Arbor Michigan.  Love Love Love this paper!

Candy and Whimsy December Release Day 5

Hello and welcome to Day 5 of Whimsy Stamps December Rubber Stamp; Die Release Showcase!

On Monday (17 December) Whimsy Stamps released this month's new rubber designs, Shapeology dies, Whimsy Designer Paper packs, Shape EZ templates and *new* Whimsy Prints pre-coloured toppers. From then until 23 December the Whimsy Stamps DT and Special Guests are showcasing these fabulous new goodies with a daily mini blog hop and I am part of today’s hop!

I've created a project today right out of the old fashioned comic strips!  I've incorporated some film strip both from Tim Holtz and made with die and paper.  The project is water colored with Stampin Up pencils and distressed.  I've tied some black and white stripped ribbon around the pack of today's NEWS featuring Smart Alek by Kenny K!  The package has gauze for that rugged look of torn paper and has the TOP OF THE NEWS banner with a sentiment.  After coloring the stamp in, I used a Tim Holtz photo glass over one of the buildings to create some dimension and at a glance maybe a glass building??  What do you think?  Does it look like a Superman Card with a really clever and attractive older man trying to lure you in with his charm or what?  lol  Thanks for stopping in!  Enjoy!

Batty Boo and Shape EZ

I don't get to color very often with my water colors!  Loved this little image by Sylvia Zet!  I've wrapped some beautiful ribbon around the stem, popped up the dp insert on the leaves.  Added a pumpkin trio tag inside and gave it a rustic texture with some altered gauze.

OOh! Couldn't wait to show this little ditty off!  You may have first found it in the free online Whimsy Stamps Magazine here!

The blue and purples are the perfect contrast with the orange pumpkin and the stickes in the holes of the pumpkin really added to the effect of a candle glow.

The double scalloped die gives the perfect opportunity for writing to the recipient

Whimsy May Release Review

Today the Whimsy Inspirations blog is sharing some extra makes from the May Whimsy stamps release and this one is no exception!  I'm usually a ALL copics girl but I have found that I adore the water color of painting with Ranger Distress Inks.

I have some terrific water color paper by Strathmore Windpower 140lb 300 g/m that has always given me a very satisfying outcome and it is always extremely forgiving as well. I'm just a beginner with distress water color, so forgive me if today's little ditty has a few errors that I've "sorta" hidden !  But all in all, I was  pleased.  The bag took less than an hour after painting for about 45 minutes so the entire project is less than 2 hours!  I've made this for the perfect little shower gift bag and I adore the paper with the cute little safety pins.
