Love You MOM!

It's so close to Mother's Day!  I've sent a special gift to mom all the way to Florida and I know she follows my blog so there will be no sharing the surprise here!  Sorry!  

The Sugar and Betty Dt with That Crafty Place is having a get together today at the Passionate Paper FB page and I've colored up Sugar I love you to join them.

I've had the 12 x 12 Botanical Tea paper collection by Graphics 45 for years and just noticed that there are some gorgeous post card sized tags in the collection that work perfectly behind any image.  Sugar is popped up in from of a lush rose and then a little postage stamp in the corner and a Mother's Day Greeting at the bottom and it's done!  Super simple project but with a bit of distress and Gesso, it turned into a victorian looking gift for mom!   Don't forget your mom, you've got 2 more days!

Friends don't do it alone!

It's the first day of May!  Happy May everyone!  I hope you've accomplished loads of projects and stretched out your crafty limbs like I have recently!  For example, today's project is loaded with some of my newest favorite images and coordinating dies!

This image makes me want to squeeze my best friend!  We don't get together often enough and it's made me miss her!   The Sugar images here are full of flowing hair and ruffled outfits!  Perfect little rag doll type skin too!  Love them!  So much fun to color!

Just Because You're Special

 Guess what day it is?  Well, other than April fools day that is . . . It's time for another Sugar and Betty Challenge!!

Today's theme is anything goes/ layers

That means that you can apply for the challenge with anything you want to enter with / or you can make a super layered project too and qualify.  Fun and EASY PEASY!

I colored this adorable little digital image called "Sugar Jump" you can find her in the That Craft Place Ltd Etsy store by clicking on the badge below.

Sugar Jump was copic colored in the center and all around her I decided to emboss some terrific coordinated circles and then distress inked over it.  A bit of pearl dots and the great sentiment "Just because you're special!  Because she's so special.  These are rolled flowers hand cut and popped up with pearls and the project is done!

Hello!

   

Howdie!  Today this sweet little image called Love From Sugar is blowing some lovely little heart shaped kises in my Derwent Inktense pencil colors!  Sugar has been invited to be showcased over at the wonderfully popular Passionate Paper Creations fb page by the lovely Rhea the host of the page.

As I mentioned earlier, I colored her with my Derwent Inktense Pencils and some water then placed some hair lines finely throughout the hair again with my .005 black Pigma Micron pen for some texture.  I used my Noor window die, cut the top woodlike frame off the top of the die and glued it to the side of the window section so this gives it more of a gate like feel!  She's walking through a sunny field of grass blowing some love!

Life is a Journey

EXCITING NEWS !!!

I was looking around a bit ago on the web and saw an irresistible image on one of my favorite FB pages.  I immediately knew I just had to have some of them to color up!  The images are called Sugar and Spice, this one in particular is called Sugar Loves Mum!

The artist behind them is the wonderful Liza Horton from That Craft Place!  

I went for the Etsy Store ThatCraftPlaceLTD, and found some images I couldn't resist!  

Today, I'm announcing that I am a new member of the Sugar and Betty Challenge

DT and that the challenge blog is starting today!  The challenge is anything goes (with an optional twist).  The twist portion is for those that love to design with specific intentions in mind but you could submit with and anything goes project as well! 

I've created a clean and simple 5 x 7 project today with one designer paper, my brand new word and stitch dies, a few new coordinating flowers, some brand new Washi tape and my new Inktense pencils!  Gotta love this image!  She's so strong and worthy!  The Sugar images are like swavy stuffed adorable and hugable teddy bears with long, fun to color, wavy hair!  The colors are unlimited because they have that punky look to them as well!
