SC and EB

I'm not the most eloquent person so most of my post today comes directly from a women that expresses herself with clarity and purpose.  (Much better than I would).  I was stopping in to see what was going on at the Saturated Canary Blog this morning and found myself compelled to participate in her efforts to help the . . .

Butterfly Babies.

It's not what you think.  Sometimes we refuse to believe that awful things can happen to babies, but I think we confuse it with not wanting to hear.   We all need to increase awareness in our own way and today I'm sharing awareness here on my little corner of blogland about  EB.

This week, Krista Smith's Sister Jen left her a link on FB to a family whose infant son has Epidermolysis Bullosa.    You can read more about it here.

I read through the Butterfly Fund site as well, and felt compelled to do what ever I could.  The photo's are graphic with loads of sorrow.  These children, so beautiful and precious, with skin as delicate as a butterfly's wings.

My son Christian is autistic and at times struggles with acceptance from the general public because his APPEARANCE is normal.  After learning of this painful, emotionally agonizing and physically disabling life, I've never been more happy of Christians appearance.   Not being able to hug Christian and Sammy would be a nightmare.

Krista was asked to do something for the families and she spent hours designing.  She somehow came up with one of my favorite digi's in her shop.

"Butterfly Baby" will be available Thursday in the Saturated Canary shop.  All proceeds from this digital stamp for the first week of sales will go to the Butterfly Fund charity.   She worked very hard to get  something not gender specific, sweet, gentle, and perfect for lots of occasions.

Please feel free to share on Facebook and Twitter (and your blogs too:).  For those of you who share, you can use the code SHAREWINGS for 15% off your order through next Thursday.  Be sure to grab the banner below, too!

INSPIRATIONAL THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Look at a day when you are supremely satisfied at the end. It's not a day when you lounge around doing nothing, it's when you've had everything to do and you've done it!
