Let's get Cookin' at Top Tip Tuesday

There's still time to win my candy here, I'll be picking on the 17th of July 16th, then I've got Saturated Canary candy to share for reaching 450 followers!  It's a surprise but you'll love it because the SC images are too cute!

Today's project was designed around an invitation idea for a bar b que.  It wasn't taken that way by the men in my home though so I thought it was perfect for men too!  The card is smaller than usual, only 4 3/4 x 3 1/2 so it was cost effective to make all ten out of 3 sheets of card stock.  Terribly fun to make and the coloring was simple as pie being the outfit is white!

Candy winner and a little goodbye and a HELLO! too

Hello friends!  It seems like forever since I've posted, but it's been only a week!

First and foremost I want to say, "Happy Birthday Dad"!  Sorry we're so far apart today but I hope you have a fabulous day.  Make sure you do something for yourself and hopefully the weather down there in the sun shine state of Florida isn't too hot!  Love you loads and miss both of you!  Ok! done!

There's a launch party going on at a great store I've found!  Well, ok, I knew iCopic of course but they've revamped it and switched it up a bit with a new page and a giveaway too!  The prizes are outstanding go see for yourself by clicking in my sidebar!  You won't be sorry!  

My Top Tip Tuesday post is going to be a little different today. . .  no project!  However, because someone needs to keep you inspired in the second half of the challenge, I'll be back into crafting swing next Tuesday?  teehee!  The inspiration available over on the Challenge blog from my teamies is exceptional though so be sure to drop in!

I'm sharing a special book mark with you today!  I bought a pack of these folded book marks with a photo months and months ago and haven't had the opportunity to make one until today.  Here, let me show you what I've done!

This is the original bookmark purchased in a pack of 10

The window pocket was removed prior to embossing with a folder on the top layer only

I taped the window and rubbed it across the top of the distress pad to achieve a  line appearance

I used silhouette stars and embossed them onto stock then used an embossing folder , rubbed them on top of a distress pad and sponged the edges

I used Distress Ink, colored, dried and scrunched gauze

This bookmark has the ability to remind you of a family member while their away and bring them closer to your heart while you curl up and read that book!  The front is embossed and distressed, the stars are from silhouette stars from the web and embossed into the stock I cut them from and distressed.  I've color coordinated the hemp and gauze then used 8 or 9 sentiment images from a great Whimsy collection to finish off the inside!  I hope you enjoy it!  Don't forget the star brad, photo insert and coloring of the Bugaboo image!

Candy Winner and Top Tip Tuesday half way Sparkle Challenge

Mid Week Top Tip Tuesday Challenge

Yikes!!  I'ts Tuesday again and this is the half way mark for the last Top Tip Tuesday Challenge.  I needed to hold off till the half way mark because last week was a very busy one!  I've colored a lot of images from several different companies and artists (and I have several favorites).  However, because I design with Top Tip Tuesday, I get to use graphics from Stamp Fairy and they are one of my favorites!

In today's project, the little girl is wading in the water so I added some muddy coloring to the ankle area and dotted on some sand for the background.  Instead of the air brushing copics I whittled in from the edges which I think gave the sunny day look.  The MiC chippy was coated in glitter paint and then you can't forget the little take away gift, and this sunglasses charm was just the ticket for this sunny day card "Just Because".  Enjoy!
