Happy Birthday HOP!

My 450 Follower Candy here

Welcome to Denise's birthday party hop!
If you've come here from Ann's blog, then you're on the right track.
If not, start at Iris's blog so you don't miss a thing!

Today (May 16) we are celebrating the birthday of one of the best stamp company owners out there: Denise Lynn of Whimsy Stamps! To show our appreciation for Denise's kindness, the Whimsy family and previous guest designers are holding a birthday party blog hop using some of the amazing Whimsy Stamps products that we have grown to love.  Thank you, Denise, for giving us the opportunity to represent a company with great products, wonderful customer service, and most of all, an owner who truly cares about its artists and designers.  You are the best!

To show some appreciation to the Whimsy customers for helping us celebrate Denise's birthday, we are giving away a $25 Gift Certificate to Whimsy Stamps store.  Just hop along, leave a comment on the birthday blog posts by May 21, and a random winner from the comments left on participating blogs will be chosen to win the gift certificate.  The winner will be posted on the Whimsy Stamps blog on May 22.

Challenges Entered:
Just Keep on Creating - Anything Goes
Paper Shelter - Birthday w/Sentiment
Cute Card Thursday - A touch of sparkle
Delightful Challenge - Add Ribbon
Little Miss Muffett - Anything Goes

For today's birthday hop I've made a rich and swirly half fold card that I learned from Angie Hunt in her monthly card class!  Thanks Angie!  Just to get started I used one of my newest favorite stamp by Crissy Armstrong called Birthday Hippo.  He is colored with Copic markers.  The paper is part of my recycle bin, (Yeah!), and the pearls are The Paper Studio.  The Sentiment is by Raindrop Echo Designs w/Whimsy, (the Bottle cap set) and the Bottle Cap Die is Shapeology w/Whimsy!  The final touches were with Stickles, Clear Star Glitter pen, Pentel white ink and some pearl Beads in a Bottle by Tulip.  I hand rolled my flowers with paper from my favorite online store Creative Papers Online.  In the end some leaf punches by Martha Stewart and Satin ribbon from Offray and my Birthday card for the boss lady is all set!  Hope you enjoy it!

Happy Birthday Denise, I wish you only the most wonderful day!  For all of my other blog friends out there, there isn't a more compassionate, understanding, professional and generous boss lady!!  Thanks for everything you do!

This hop is rather large, so here's the hop order in case you get lost:

Thanks for joining us today!  Feel free to head over to Denise's blog to wish her a happy birthday :)

Our challenge for the next 2 wks is a super easy one! Lets celebratebirthdays! You could make a LO, a birthday card, a tag, an altered gift whatever you like as long as there is a birthday theme there somewhere. We are so lucky this wk to be sponsored by the fabulous Digis with attitude, whose images a few of our DT have used!

The Super talented DT have great projects to share as well,  Wow!
Difference in color from print to adding Copic (see paws)
Come by and join us for the challenge this time, you have 2 wks to enter and don't forget our only restrictions are to stick to the theme, no backlinking and only enter twice! Thanks so much for coming by and good luck!

So a few details:  I die cut the flowers from 4 matching DP, curled them with the embossing tool and dotted the inside w/liquid pearl, cut out the deco images assembeled them in order but embossed the top to be rounded.  Colored over the  printed ink to add some richer brown hue and assembeled the card!  Super simple to complete and fun!  I think it's more like therapy for me to have intricut cutting to do! lol

A Special Treat!

This has been a great week, thanks for joining me again and . . .  Hi to all my friends and family!

I was inspired the other day by a template creation so I though it would be the perfect occasion to practice with some new embellishments and get extra creative!

So I started from scratch and drew up an ice cream cone and the ice cream scoop also, put them together, outlined the template on bazzill stock, cut straight line across the top, flipped the scoop and traced it again.  The base was done and the rest is just 1/8 inward the whole way.  Took some photos along the way for later reference. I thought the image withing the round circle on the top was like the cherry and the lace was like the whipped cream!  I even added a tear drop charm to symbolize a drip of ice cream like the adorable image used here.

This week at Wags 'n whiskers challenge is your opportunity to show me all your Birthday creations!  Our Hostess this week is the lovely and talented Darlene from Dar's Crafty Creations, be sure and visit her blog here.                              .

Vamp for my Sam

Our second Friday in June already and it's going fast!  Next week my parents get in from Florida for a week!  I'm getting very anxious, I miss their quirkiness and honest personalities!  My weekend is going to be full of family and a bar b q for fathers day this Sunday.  My daughter, Sammantha, plans to come by today and help to clean up the new yard.  I say new because it was later in the summer last year when we moved in and there was no excess time to plant in the reoccurring blooms.  She was over yesterday and started pruning the roses for the season.

I've made this card for my Sammantha's birthday in October as she LOVES Halloween, this image from The Dragons Lair Sam the Vamp was perfect!  Maybe off seasonally, but I needed a change from the crafts for the end of June craft sale and also the summer time images that everyone is using in their challenges.  After all, some times I just want to craft what I want to craft!

I want to remind everyone about the challenge over at Stamping with the Dragon the theme is Friendship and I would love to see your creations!  There is brand new paper packs and a Fabulous Grab bag too!
