Two part Lavinia Project with Alcohol Ink background

I'm playing catch up today on my blog because between the store, crafting projects for the You tube lives on Thursday nights and regular life, it's harder to find time to blog!  However, all of my subscribers deserve to enjoy the journey so I'm going to catch up on some older projects and then get back to blogging on a regular basis!

You can see the entire process yourself here on my Youtube Channel anytime!

A few months ago on FB Live, I was admiring the yupo paper and alcohol ink projects from Lavinia Stamps and thought I would give it a go myself.  The color combinations are endless and the technique is really rather fun!

I made some background sheets in one weeks Live and then the next week, I put the stamps into action!  Both of the crafty hours were relaxing and fun with all of the Live audience participation!  Thank you to all my regular viewers!  Here's what I designed!

Isn't he the cutest!  I adore these stamps!  They bring the artist out in me!

I cut him down and added him into the new "See You In The Center interactive die frame" (one of the NEWEST editions to the Interactive Die Section of the TLCDesigns.shop store and finished the project off with an adorable sentiment.

Thank you for stopping in and I'll see you next Thursday Night at 8PM EST on FB Live!

Stay Crafty,

Mideela's Flight of Fire

It's Sunday my friends!  The first Sunday of May 2020!  The year is going by so fast you can't blink or you may miss it!  I went outside today for about an hour with my husband and just roamed around town.  There weren't many people or cars out but the birds were singing and the squirrels were all but taking over the world!  lol

Last Thursday's FB LIVE was a huge success and together we managed to learn some tips on Brusho inks, discussed how I strengthen some of my smaller fussy cut illustrations and some of my newest finds in metallic gel pens, among other things!

INGREDIENTS:
Mideela Dragon Stamp
Mystical Swirls
Dragon Set
Mushroom Lantern Set

Mediums:
Brusho's
Versafine Clair Nocturn, Golden Meadow, Twilight, Fantasia
Quicky Glue Pen

Embellishment:
Glitter
Arteza Metallic Gel Pens
White Gel Pen
Crystal Gel pen

Queen Mideela has risen from the fire pit withing the cavern she resides only after the troublesome dragon brothers and their fairy riders decided to play tag whilst she slumbers!

The colorful pods awaken from the roof of the cave when the motion and sound of the dragon brothers grows!  They are Mideelas night lights but only shine when she awakens!

Turn the dial and watch for yourself all of the dramatic and magical action occurs!

Stay Crafty!

Getting back to last weeks FB LIVE project I created with the Distress Oxide and Versafine Clair Inks!  If you missed it, please feel free to scroll a bit on either the Handmadebytlc FB page or Tammy Houghton Cunliffe page and you can view it there anytime!

I am attempting to post the video on my Youtube Channel but there seems to be a recent snag on Youtube!  However, I will continue to try to work it out!  I know Youtube is easy access and user friendly!

This is the project before the Interactive Double Dial Die mechanism is added to create the action in this delightful Whispy meadow!

INGREDIENTS:
Newtons Nook Hills & Grass Stencil
Simon Says Cardstock: Doll Pink and Sunshine
Lavinia Stamps: Meadow Mushroom, Birds, Josie, Dandelions, Hares Set, Fairy Foragers, Time to Reflect Sentiment, Bonnet Set, Fairy Bell Set

The background work included rolling a few shades of Oxide inks onto the surface of the topper card carefully blending the colors in the middle to create a third hue.

MEDIUMS:
Versafine Clair Inks: Golden Meadow, Nocturne, Shady Lane, Purple Delight, Charming Pink, Chiante
Distress Oxide Colors:  Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, Dusty Concord, Iced Spruce, Fossilized Amber, Antique Linen

I stamped the foliage, mushrooms and hares with Nocturn Clair ink with some second generation stamping to give depth.  Carefully creating images that come from the top of the card to the middle and from the bottom of the card to the middle as well.

Symmetry of images is just as important as the placement of them.  There was some stamping of the Bonnett set in Purple Delight for added color and tone as the purples in the background were towards the bottom, the top needed some purple to balance.

 EMBELLISHMENTS:
Silver Glitter Spectrum Noir Pen

In the center area I created some hills with the stencil and amongst the hills I stamped the Dandelions in Golden Meadow ink just to see the image.  Then with the fine tipped gel pens, I placed white and black dots where the stamp had dots and for the highlight of the stems, I used the gold gel pen!  It looked magical!

The Fairies and the small dandelion seeds that float across the scene were stamped seperately and fussy cut to pop onto the mechanism and create the action.  I did distress the fussy cut edges with oxide ink to blend the images into the scene.

One turn of the dial and Josie is blowing her dandelion seed accross the sun filled meadow while the Fairy Forager flied high above the Meadow mushrooms to catch her fair share!  All the while the curious hare couple are gazing the shine and splendor of the Bonnet's blooming in the valley!

So much fun to design but even funner to play!

The inside of the project was finished off with both colors of the Card stock and the beautiful sentiment stamp from Lavinia Stamps!  Simple and coordinating!

Thank you everyone that joined in making this project with me!  I hope it has inspired you to just get those inks out and play a bit?

My Pegasus can fly! Why?

I hope all of my friends and family are having a great weekend!

The Creativation Trade Show is going on right now with companies like Simon Says Stamps, Spellbinders and Mama Elephant showing off their newest product line for 2020!

I don't have a booth, but I do have a great new die product available NOW!  The Double Dial Die 1 and it's available to U.S. customers from my new store TLCDesigns.shop!  If you are not in the U.S. however, you can find it at the 7KidsCrafts.com because they ship worldwide!

Created with Lavinia Stamps and the gel press with other small Lavinia stamps too!
This is what makes the magic!  The Double Dial Die 1!  This sample project shows Zanor the king of the Pegasus leaping through the forest over the lake to meet his queen Sirlus on the most majestic of snowy nights!

Priced right, fun and easy to use!
For today's project I used the cute frame that comes with the Double Dial Die and double cut it for sturdiness.  Then I cut two dials and four arms.  The more sound your foundation and parts, the better this interactive mechanism will work.

I used my Gel press with the Colorbox and brusho inks first and let dry.  I went around the edges of the frame with coordinating ink and sponge and began my stamping.  The background was designed with the bridge first which I colored in just a bit with some brown Colorbox.  I tore some printer paper and used it to ink the mountains in the background then stamped some trees above where the Pegasus's were flying.  The yellow was brought into the center with Colorbox ink and a round sponge to simulate the reflection of the moon in the water.

The background brings this project to life with mushrooms in the foreground on the bottom and some vines hanging from the top.  Most of the trees and mountains and mushrooms were brushed over with the gel pen to give it that winter feel and the project was decorated.

To complete the project, I stamped the two illustrations on Kraft paper and embellished them with gel pen glitter and fussy cut them.  Then I assembled the mechanism and adhered the illustrations!  Raising the topper onto a card base completed the project!

NEWS TO SHARE!

I've got so much BIG NEWS today!

First, a sneak peek! for more on the project, see yesterdays post

Hello Crafty Friends!
There is so much BIG NEWS I'm sharing with you today I don't know where to start! lol
First . . . Briefly . . . I've been blogging for more than 10 years and many of you have followed, shared, served on Dt's with me, entered card challenges, magazine consignments or just been blogging right along with me.  I appreciate each and every one of you, after all, many of you have been telling me for years that I should do this for myself and you are right!  Thank you! From getting crafty all the way to my experiences at CHA annually with many different stores, everything I've done has been a stepping stone to where my "Journey of Joy" will go.
I previously, like many of you, purchased and used products in this industry with little knowledge of what goes into getting them onto the market. What do the behind scenes actually look like?  Well,  I can tell you!  I've spent years in product development, product design, package design, graphic art on illustrations, illustrations themselves, product quotes, manufacturing process, marketing, newsletter development, social media banners, pricing, customer service and much more for other companies!
One day, I was struck with a stick (as hubby called it) LOL!  I decided that all of my experience has the makings of TLC Designs Brand Products!  Why not?  Choosing to manufacture products I design and love while offering them at affordable prices is just what the next step in my "Journey of Joy" SHOULD be!  I'm not going to lie and tell you that it's not terrifying, exciting, exhausting and exhilarating all at the same time but it's time!  After all, I am an artist at heart and I'm not getting any younger and joy can be more difficult to find.  If I'm unable, any longer, to find joy working for someone else on their products, I should get up and do it for myself right?  Well, I agree!

My first TLC Designs brand product is here!

THE DOUBLE DIAL DIE 1!
currently retailing at 7kidscrafts.com

The movement in this interactive die is smooth and the possibilities are endless!  Step by step instructions are included!  Perfect for A2 size cards AND you can either use the frame included OR use the slot mechanism on ANY frame die you already have in your stash!!
From beginner to veteran card making, this die is easy to assemble and the possibility are endless!  All Occasions!  Make your fairies fly, throw a snowball or blow flowers to a friend!  This card is fun and interactive!  Sure to make them smile!
The TLC Inspired Designs, LLC or(TLC DESIGNS) logo is on this package!  What do you think of the packaging?  I just love the Bright, Bold and Beautiful colors when I craft and the Gerber Daisy brings me Joy!  The design of the LOGO and brand fit me perfectly!  What better way to express myself than to be true to what I love?
Digi's and Polymer Stamps won't be far behind!
another small Sneak Peek!

But that's not all . . .
There's more you ask . . . YES!
I have been working hard behind the scenes for other stores, brainstorming and designing products for them to sell more than 10 years now.  Hint hint.
TLC Designs eCOMMERCE store OPEN NOW!

I have been hard at work putting my online retail store on the Shopify platform where I can bring you my products direct!  I can offer you a product I love, I have tested and can trust to be reliable.  I stand behind the product or I won't sell it.  I will be able to listen and put products out there you can afford to add to your stash!  Every one of us want good reliable product we can afford!  Let me help you find it!

Now . . .  keep in mind . . . everyone has to start somewhere, so follow along on my journey, be patient with me (lol), and join in.  Share and create with me along the way!  I've been so blessed to have all of you, my friends and family, in my crafty world!  I appreciate all of your support, comments and comradery along the way!  You mean the world to me and I could've never do this without all of you either!

last sneak peek!  Promise!

Last but not least . . .

I've become the newest Illustrator for the 7KidsCrafts.com store!  My double dial die design will be sold through this popular craft product store as well as TLCDesigns.shop when it opens!

While my product inventory grows, you will be able to purchase my products effortlessly.  While my store and clientele grows, you can still find the perfect illustration to use with this die in her store!  Her variety is fantastic and her prices are out of this world!

Most importantly, I've committed to a few projects every month again!

Yes!  Once again, I get to share projects with you on my blog!  It's been so long I hope I remember how!  lol

Having announced all of that!  Thank you again! I hope you'll stop in my store at TLCdesigns.shophttps://tlcdesigns.shop/ and peruse my products!  Maybe even share projects and tag me so I can come by and see your beautiful inky work!
A special thank you goes out to Kelly Neis or 7 Kids Crafts for her support in this venture.  The Double Dial Die 1 is available through 7KidsCrafts.com.
This "Journey of Joy" with Bright, Bold and Beautiful art products is why I've decided to take the leap and go into business for myself with my own designs.  I'm blessed to have had every one of you with me these past 10 years and am looking forward to continuing with your for a good 10 more!

Gratefully Yours,
