Happy 2013 Everyone! Whimsy Release Review!

There's a lot to celebrate today over at the Whimsy Stamps Inspirations Blog!  Including a guest designer announcement and loads of projects from the talented design team.

In 2012 my experience has been a whirl wind of excitement, challenge and an honest attempt to expand my creativity.  All of the Shapeology die designs, the Shape EZ templates, and the wonderful rubber I've been blessed to color up have made 2012 the experience of a life time!  I would only wish that in 2013 I am able to match or maybe even exceed it.  I am eternally grateful for all of my wonderful followers and for Whimsy Stamps!  Without both of you, my year couldn't been the same.  Happy New Year to all and may you all be blessed!

Whimsy Release Review and Winner!

Whimsy Stamps introduced so many beautiful NEW products in September including stamps, sentiments, papers, dies and of course some Shape EZ cut files that we all can't wait to show you a recap of inspiration from the DT.

WINNER OF MY CANDY FROM THE SEPTEMBER RELEASE IS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST!

So as to not bore you too much . . .  If you played along in the hop, you may have noticed my Christmas makes were just not happening!  However, I flourished out the orange, black and yep even purple embellies for this one and came up with some inspiration for the fall season instead.  Including today's project which I used one of the die in the Pumpkin Trio set and made 5 of these little quickies for my monthly card class at the Sticker Store and More.  Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make it to class last Wednesday but I've saved them to share next month along with my new 5 makes!  So any of you ladies from my class that follow along here . . . . . . close your eyes!!  tehe!

I literally have been googly eyed over the makes with Washi tape lately and just hadn't bought any until last week!  I chose some traditional themes from Tim Holtz, then some small strip sets from and placed it under to break the flow.  Scrap paper (that was the theme of my card class this month), was used for the rest of them card.  I cut through the base stock and design paper with the die and simply switched up the cut outs onto the other cards.  I distress the mouth line and rolled it up a bit, popped the die cut up on the inside of the card and added some string, leaf c/o from my stash and a button.  There was a little stamp from Studio G of acorns added to the inside just for a touch and the cards were done!  This was probably the easiest card I've made all season and I felt great about using up some of my scraps ta-boot!

Whimsy Stamps Inspirations Magazine: Tips & Tutorials, Volume I - 
For this issue, we have gathered some of our favorite tutorials from previous online publications and packed them into an exciting 86-page bound book.  We will guide you through how to color using various mediums (Copics, Tim Holtz® Distress Inks, colored pencils, etc.), how to create unique embellishments for your creations (flowers, trinket pins, stamped charms, etc.), and how to create fancy cards (book cards, criss cross cards, flip cards, etc.) that will be sure to impress all your family and friends.  Grab up this issue and and let your creativity flow!

The Whimsy Stamps very first paper issue of the Inspirations magazine is out in print and you are able to order it now in the store.  It is sure to be a hot spot for great coloring techniques, creating of embellishments and more.   The FREE online mini version comes out at the end of July.  

On to my project today!  Happy Independence Day to everyone!  My family, not unlike most of you, have felt loss and triumph along with the pros and cons each and every time the fight for our independence has occurred.  I don't want to debate or try to justify anything or anyone else's opinions as this is usually a heated issue!  I do, however, want to say I applaud and give my sincerest well wishes to every family and friend that has OR knows anyone who has served!   So . . . "WITH GRATITUDE";

A Special New Holiday release with Shape EZ

So . . .  the template I used today is called "Spangled Star Card", and the "Spangled Flower".  Spangled Star card is new and available today only at Whimsy Stamps Store in the Shape EZ section.  The Spangled Flower will be release later this month.  The files are all 300 dpi and come in JPEG,PNG,PDF and SVG formats.  This template has some really special cuts, the base and insert dp of course but then the dark blue hole filled cut for another layer of dp too.  Also, the smaller star can be used separately in any of you favorite designs as embellishments.  The choices are endless!  Now, can you invision this as a Christmas project?  Or even a new born sweet baby blue or pink newborn card?  Me too so don't miss the July Whimsy magazine because I think there may be some samples in there!!!  hint hint!

Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes

All of the projects being shared on the Whimsy Inspirations blog today are created with the March Release stamps and believe me, you won't want to miss them.  I made a tag today with a newly designed hair color and my copics.  My daughter came over to play a little and came up with this fun combination.  I added some more of my favorite handmade flowers with some of my new material.  I punched some circles out of some scrap design paper and lined the edge of the Kraft base paper then covered with ribbon and TaDa!
