Spring Love

Happy heart day!  Well, I know it's just a little past Velentines Day but it can be Love for any reason with this                                                 bright multi media water colored card.  Don't you think?

Before I go any further with today's project, don't forget to join us at the 7 Kids College Fund Challenge blog                                                                       this month for a chance at the Prize!

Today's project is on a watercolor paper base, I embossed a Love sentiment that I think is Large and Lovely from the Whimsy collection of the store and water colored over it to show the resist.  I used spring colors that would coordinate with the Love feeling of the card.

Then I broke out the new Hearts Plush Heart Memory box stencil and the Gesso to stencil a portion of the large heart over to the left side of the project.  I wanted it to be bumpy and lumpy and did so by adding some texture flakes and glitter.  Then I heat dried it so it would crack on the outside layer.  By doing this, the blue paint seeped into the cracks and gave it this beautiful texture.

INGREDIENTS:
Time to pull out the chipboard!  Wycinanka is a fantastic, elegant and intricate chipboard to use!  The store selection is magnificent too!  You'll not be disappointed when you take a peak around for what will accentuate your next project!  I Gessoes all the pieces, Air Balloon and heart arrow then watercolor painted them to coordinate.  Glittered them up a bit.  Added some flowers from my Creative Basics die collection and added a sentiment.  The sentiment, of course was one of my favorites from the TLC Expressions line at LDRS Creative.  The little hearts were used from the sentiment to add to the hot air balloon and the project was complete.

One of my favorites this year thus far!!  Join me in water coloring won't you?  It's a nice break from pen coloring.

MEDIUMS:
Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolor

EMBELLISHMENTS:
Recollection Pearls
Stickles glitter
INSPIRATIONAL THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Call a friend, relative or mento and let them know how much they mean to you.

Sparkle where ever you go

Goodness, is it February already?  I'm sharing one of my first water color projects of the new year.  I'm in love with Steampunk!  As you can tell, this adorable stamp from Art Stamp called "Mannequin Steampunk goes perfectly with my Keytailed Dragonfly die set!

All of the products less the water color paints are available at the 7 Kids College Fund Store.  Sometime it's about working with what you love even when it's in a clean and simple way.  A lot of my projects are loaded with embellishments but at times, I just want to get inky!

I found some Strathmore watercolor cards and envelopes at Hobby Lobby and thought they would be terrific to try out a new pearlized paint set.  I Washi taped off the edges first and embossed the stamp with clear embossing powder.  I used turquois, pink, red and purple simply swiping the color on an angle from one corner of the card to the other.

INGREDIENTS:

MEDIUMS:
Versafine black ink
watercolor pearlized paint

EMBELLISHMENTS:
Recollections Pearls

INSPIRATIONAL THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Out of all the things you wear, your expression is the most important.

All the little things

Happy Sunday!  Second week of Advent today and the season is looking Merry and Bright!  Today from the 7 Kids College Fund, I've colored this ADORABLE Wee image called Candle Light!  YES!!!  7 Kids is carrying some of the Wee images again!  YEAH!  I adore Wee images!  So sweet and adorable!  You CAN'T go wrong!
There is still a few days left in the challenge for you to join us and play along for a chance to win a $20.00 gift certificate so don't miss this opportunity to play along and I'll visit your blog and leave you some crafty love!

I've created this card by tracing the outside of the large Majestic die in white stock, cutting the die itself from the design paper and folding the card in half long ways.  The Majestic Square die has a nested square with rounded corners that I popped up on the card.  The Majestic die set has that lovely little die I used on the top of the focal point, the little flowers on the left edge and the sentiment circle are both from the Darling Square die set.  These two larger die set work so beautifully together!  A few little accents like sequins and crystals and voila!  the project is done!
 INGREDIENTS:

MEDIUMS:
Copic Ink
Ranger Distress Ink Faded Jeans
EMBELLISHMENTS:
Authentique - Festive
Bo Bunny - Altitude
