Stamping with Die Cuts!

Happy New Year!  I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday?  Here at my home, we enjoyed a blessed visit with my mom from Florida and enjoyed the world famous chicken from Frankenmuth's Bavarian Inn!  No fuss, no muss!!
INGREDIENTS:
Kraft stock
Enchanted Wishes Vintage Affections Sentiment
My Minds Eye DP

Today's project uses the Fluttered Tulip Bodice die from LDRS Creative!  This is a two piece die set because when you cut the bodice, you also get a little swirly tulip vine from within the center of the bodice.  I cut three of the tulip vines out of grunge board, glued them together to create an item with depth that could hold up to all of the ink I wanted to use with it.

MEDIUMS:
VersaMark
Color Bok Winter White
Crafter's Ink Turquois
Kraft paper with versa mark first, then I used some colored inks to add more dimension to the kraft stock.   A bit of Wink of Stella glitter in some small sections of the project, then in the end, I placed some gauze behind the bodice that was popped up and the little tulip swirl used for stamping with was added back to the bodice with some diamond dust.

EMBELLISHMENTS:
Pearls
Gauze
Wink of Stella glitter

Lovely Letters!

Happy Tuesday!  Or should I say Happy Fall?  Either way, I hope today finds you happy!  This is the type of project that makes me happy!  An adorable little red head with a letter of love.  Thank you Elizabeth Bell for being so talented!  She was in rubber when Treasured Times Rubber Stamps Store was open.  She was one of my favorite to color and was chosen to be the insert for the packaging even!  I was so humbled!

Of course this project also is one of my favorite to make because it is a bifold card.  That is, it only takes a 6 x 6 cut card stock flourished with some fabby design paper, you score it down the middle and embellish the heck out of it!  Today I used one of my all time favorite dies from LDRS Creative, the Flourished Tulip Bodice!  There's never an occasion I can't pop this gorgeous figure of a die on a project!
This week, Elizabeth and her wonderful E. Bell Digi team added this cutie pie (Sweet Country Harvest) to their products and I thought, no better time than the present to show you how I colored her up!  This too is a bifold card.  This was in rubber during the time I colored for Treasured Times Rubber Stamps which has since closed their doors, but it's just as cute in digi as it was in rubber!

Her name is Sweet Country Harvest and you can find her in the E Bell digi store here and if you'd like to see more projects with her, be sure to stop by the Digi Bells challenge blog and take a gander!

Doing More With Your Dies

There are times when you grab that favorite die in order to fill in an empty spot on a card just behind the lovely little image you've spent an hour or two coloring.  However, there is really no end to what you can do when you've FLIPPED THE SWITCH on your creativity with a wonderful die cut.  Let me show you.

I've created a video for the Little Darlings Rubber Stamps You Tube Tutorial site and invite you to visit to see first hand how.

I've created a chipboard like element from 4 cuts of the Fluttered Tulip Bodice Die out of Kraft Paper.  I cut 6 of them however in order to pop out the tulip from them and I embossed them to use on the edges of the inside of the card.  Lastly, I used the Dew Drop Circle die to create a fully dimensional, embossed, distressed and glossed skirt to lavishly embellish the Tulip Bodice.  Watch how I do it all on YOU TUBE!

INGREDIENTS:

MEDIUMS:
Ranger Distress Ink

EMBELLISHMENTS:
Glossy Accents
Black emboss powder
Emboss folder
Decorated Velum

Hyper embellish with your favorite dies

I've been "Hyper" embellishing some of  my designer die designs I've created for the Little Darlings Rubber Stamps Store today!  This a a term I use when I desire to make an over the top design.  This Fluttered Tulip Bodice die adds texture, design and that ever popular feminine touch to any project all on its own, but it takes on an entirely new effect if you just add a few extra touches!

Literally one of my favorites when I combine it with the large Darling Square Die Set frame!  The outcome is always so elegant, delicate and pleasing!  Above you can see the base folded in half, below the card opened.

Today's stamped image is the hug-able little GWEN image from the Dollhouse collection.  Her hair is a dream to color, but that bow and those cheeks are my favorite parts!  This is the perfect sort of image to handle all my thick rich love of pigment!  These images are full of character and design, you could use them shabby chic, jazzy or bright and bold!  Isn't she a dream?

With a simple bi-fold card design, the image is seated prominently in the center of the card, there is a bit of texture added with the Dewdrop border die.  Then after twinkling the edges of the fluttered tulip bodice and layering two copies together, I've added a HYPER embellishment to the bodice that brings the design paper colors right back into play and offsets the project too!  I'll show you how!

You can learn how to "Hyper" embellish your die cuts and make a full velumptious flower like this one with the extra pieces in the Darling Square Die Set too, here with a tutorial at the
Little Darlings Rubber Stamps You Tube Tutorial channel.

For my second project I decided to highlight this adorable Candi Bean illustration called "WILD THING"  I wanted to make certain that her and her four legged friend really popped!  Her friend is simply adorable and so cuddly too1  Her hair is luxurious with that gorgeous braid and her little feet turned in is a real show of her affection!  The DP is soft and subtle but has all the coordinating colors to bring all the dies and colors together.

I created the base of the card with the Darling Square Die Set.  Using the little extras that makes it so simple to coordinate, the two different sized flowers were layered and a brad was colored yellow with copics.  Then the little pearls in the center of the flower flourish were altered too, which are also in the Darling Square Set.  The Darling View,  Dewdrop Border and attached to the view finder style die is the Fluttered Tulip Bodice!!!  All of these dies were an absolute must to add more texture and a childhood friend feel to the card.  The Vintage Affections Sentiment set called "Friends" was a perfect final touch for the project.
