Here is my project today:

Hi ribbon lovers and all of my lovely followers,

It's time to HOP!

It's a warm and colorful fall day in October and I created a Christmas Card for a dear friend using some really nontraditional colors to do it! The Really Reasonable Ribbon October Ribbon Club Assortment is where you can find these gorgeous bright and coordinating ribbons!  Aren't they just the cutest?  The stripes and tree prints are to die for and the lime greens and watermelon pink mixed with the turquoise are indeed very nontraditional but make for a very light and cheery holiday card right!  Wouldn't you just love to get something like this in the mail and post it on your wall at Christmas time?  Me too! lol

I just covered the front section of the card with each one of the ribbons in the club this month horizontally. Then I used a sheet of paper in the same size and die cut out the hexagons.  I used some beautiful thread to frame it with and glued some cut off bulbs to decorate with then put the bottom of the bulbs in the center of the adorable little buttons.   Just a bit of my eclectic feel to the card.  I used some twine and made intersections in the face of the card to give it even more texture and color.

INGREDIENTS:
All of the October Really Reasonable Ribbon Club Ribbons (list is lower)
Everyday Honeycomb Sentiment by Raindrop Echo Design

Tied in a Knot "For You"

My Candy ends tomorrow here!
Happy Sunday!  Let's talk yellow and purple today with the Really Reasonable Ribbon Seam Binding Forwythia ribbon and some of the gorgeous Jumbo Leaves in Moss Green!  I wanted to add some subtle texture with my ribbon without spending an elaborate amount of time doing so.   When the Kimonos are all tied up, the knots look just gorgeous and perfectly plump in the middle.  This is exactly what I tried to add to my project for today.

I shared a brief tutorial today for these knots on the Really Reasonable Ribbon Ramblings Blog.  Come by for a peek!

There's always a great challenge to play in at the Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge blog too.  So make and share so I can come by and  visit!

Just Because

I stamped the sentiment over and over alternating them on the bottom for added design and reiteration of the meaning of the greeting card.  It just added the perfect touch to the empty space at the bottom.

It's Friday!  Yeah!  This has been such a busy and long week!  We've made the decision to drop public school and join in on the K12 program.  It's a free home school program and I just know that after all the kinks are out and mom and dad have loaded all the Adobe Readers and Java Readers and other printing requirement software, this is going to be a fabulous choice for our autistic son.
Today I am shareing my use of some of the fabulous ribbons I found at Really Reasonable Ribbon last month.  The Big Sky Hand-Dyed Silk and the Netting went perfectly with the Paper cord (on sale now) for the Rick St Dennis I lovs you dis Much image I've colored up.

At first I wasn't sure about the sentiment for this card but when I placed the gorgeous rich colored buttons from Buttons Galore and More on the project instead of flowers, I just knew it would be perfect for an all occasion multi gender card.
I've had the entire set of 4 little clowns from Rick St Dennis Etsy Store FOREVER and I never colored them because I just didn't have the time. I'm so glad I decided to do an image just for me!  I colored it first with some of my new favorite copic colors and then I went to search for papers.  I usually work the other way around but this worked out just perfectly!

Won't you join me for the next challenge here for Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge Blog.   Hope you get inspired to!

We will be selecting our top three favorite projects to feature so stop back to see our picks along with our next challenge theme.

* You may enter as many times as you like, but you're asked to provide newly designed projects. No back-linking please.
* All projects must also include some sort of ribbon/lace/trim.
* Post your project on your blog or an online gallery (using code RRR76)  Please provide a direct link to your post, not an entire blog.

Thanks so much for playing and good luck!

I'm not necessarily the Shabby Chic type of designer.  However, I am a very shapely card maker as you all may know and I've learned from discussions within the design team that it isn't always a light muted blue or pink that makes it Shabby Chic.  You can use vibrant and rich pigmented colors as well.

The Merriam Webster online dictionary defines the word SHABBY as "The Threadbare faded from wear".  And the word Chic is defined as "Smart elegance and sophistication especially of dress or manner :  style chic
>.

So what did I learn?  Shabby Chic is a sophisticated worn look that has a faded elegance!

Yep, any colors can be distressed to look worn!

In my opinion, Any baby wearing an elegant little dress with scalloped lace on the sleeve and beautiful rich colored flowers is what I considered sophisticated!  So here's my interpretation of "SHABBY CHIC" for today's challenge.
