Whimsy Challenge #64 Shabby Chic with Kenny K

Challenge #64 Whimsy Stamps - Shabby Chic/Vintage - Rubber Team

Today we're showing our new September images designed by our
Very own Rubber Team.

Our topic this week is:
Shabby Chic / Vintage

Remember, you don't have to use a Whimsy image on your challenge creation,
although it would be great if you did!
Also, your entry doesn't have to be a card - we welcome all paper projects!

Our Prizes this month are:

First Winner

Second Winner

Third Winner
A mystery Whimsy Stamps rubber stamp

Don't forget ...as well as random winners being chosen each challenge, one lucky player who has used a Whimsy Stamps image (rubber or digital) will have the opportunity to be a guest designer for a future challenge. If you have used a Whimsy Image and would like to be a future guest, please add GDT to your name when entering. The guest designer will be able to choose a digi stamp of their choice from the store to create their guest card too!

Anyone can enter our challenge and we don't mind you combining with other challenges either! Please remember no more than 3 entries per challenge and all we ask is that you add a link in your blog post to tell your friends you entered the Whimsy Inspirations Challenge

Any of you that know and follow my work know that Shabby Chic is not my ordinary style (giggle).  However, when I made a project last month for another team, I found out that Shabby Chic doesn't necessarily have to be subtle and light blues and pinks.  You can make any color shabby and the Chic is a fashion that can be considered as many things such as, glittery, over the top, eclectic or many more.  So with the Kenny K image I've used today, it fit perfectly with the bright pink stock paper, the lovely crystal swirls, the mis matched sentiment and the lovely muted grey paper from Michele Roos.

INGREDIENTS:
Design paper is Floral Explosion by Michele Roos
Kenny K image is Tomboy Trouble
Studio G Alpha Set

MEDIUMS:
Copic Ink
Studio G pigment Ink
Victorian Velvet Distress Ink

EMBELLISHMENTS:
Recollections flowers
Satin and Tulle flower - handmade
black button stash
Prima Say It In Crystals
Prima Decorative Border "Valenciennes Colsteil

Hi everyone and welcome to the

Our brand new September release Rubber Stamps and Stamp Sets, Whimsy Shapeology Dies and Whimsy Designer Paper 6x6 packs are now available to buy from the Whimsy Stamps store!! For a full reveal of our new release goodies, please visit the Whimsy blog.

To celebrate our new release, the DT are holding a blog hop today and are sharing creations made with some of the brand new Elisabeth Bell, Time For Tea Designs and Raindrop Echo Designs stamps! The blog hop has a prize of 2 new release stamps hidden somewhere along the way and you have 24hrs to enter each prize draw!

To be entered into today's blog hop prize draw, be sure to leave a comment on ALL of the DT's posts listed below by 12.00PM EST tomorrow. All winners will be announced on the Whimsy blog on Friday.

So On to my project:

I used the lovely NEW Under the  Mistletoe Girl and Under The Misteltoe Boy Stamps today for my first holiday presentation card!  They were masked just at the mistletoe to appear that they both want the other to kiss!  They are just too darling!  I went outside of my comfort zone and created a holiday card in light muted colors and a Shabby Chic feel.  Loads of embossing enamel was used inside the image area to envelope around the two love birds for a romantic touch.  Also, I think I'm in love with the little chipboard hearts too, they have color ready spots in them you can add a touch of color to to match your projects as you can see with the green lines through them!  Aren't they fabby?  Hope you enjoy!

It's my turn to showcase one of the NEW April release Shape EZ templates (The Banana Card) with this adorable flower lovin green buddy from the 2 Cut Ink Stamp set called Sweet Froggies!  Great name huh?

So the Pretty in Pink challenge was easy to convert this banana template from the yellow ordinary color of the fruit to pink with the DP paper by Michelle Roos also available at the Whimsy Stamps Store today!

I cut the template on Cricut, colored up the froggie, framed it with some of my new Spellbinder dies, framed it with these lilly pad looking clover fies and the pond looking leaf from the Leaf Trio Shapeology die set.  I used some Distress Ink all the way around, popped a butterfly and some flowers on it and finished it off with the Whimsy Stamps fairy charm.  Too Cute huh?
