On a Daffy March!

The end of October nearly!  My girl turned 20 and the boy is 15 this year!  Ugh!  Did I jut admit that?  Happy Birthday to both of them and today's card resembles the occasion.

Like I've said for the better part of October, I couldn't wait to get back into the mojo of making several cards a week with every theme possible.  The process keeps my creative juices flowing and without it I struggle so much more!

Today I'm getting back into the challenge swing with Sentimental Sundays.  We have a fabulous sponsor this week at Heart Song Designs and we want you to take and make something inspiring from your birth flower!  Did you know you had a birth flower?  Well, my birthday is in March and it turns out the Daffodil is for me.  So I've taken some inspiration that I first found in a tutorial on ScrapBitz blog.  I don't color flowers often and I wanted to give it a go.  With the Copic alone I couldn't seem to get the shading I wanted but then I added some Distress ink and liked the outcome much more.
There are always some free sentiments offered at Sentimental Sundays challenge sight and this week is Janne's choice so I hope you enjoy them and play this week with us all.  Be sure to stop in and say Hi to the DT as well.

On to the details of my card:  We want to see your Birth Flowers

Sweet Red, White and Blue!

Yesterday was simply beautiful!  Super productive and enjoyable days like this are far and few between!  Yesterday it rained and tried to freeze us out.  My parents are still in town and we plan to meet up with several cousins for lunch on Monday!  Mmmm. . .  maybe Apple b's!  hehe

My craft show is today, it's usually pretty successful and gives me the opportunity to share my creations with people that truly appreciate the giving of "One of a kind" greetings for those special occasions!  Makes for a very long day usually so I hope hubby makes supper tonight! lol (hear that hunny?)

The Sentimental Sundays Challenge starts up today and the theme is Patriotic/use the colors of your Nations flag.  I've never made a Red White and Blue card before so I hope you enjoy this one!  YUM! huh?  Our Sponsor is Heart Song Designs this image is "Cupcake Rose" and also we have a sentiment from Valerie's Sentiments available for your projects!  So stop by and enter for some great prizes with your flags colors!

I love the vellum card design almost as much as adding the candy like beads and frosting like applique to the cupcake for that yummy look!  This is the first time I used the cricut machine to cut a form of which I used 3 different sizes to surround the cupcake like a plate. . .gonna have to use it more often!  The paper behind is musical design hence the sentiment "You are my hearts sweetest song"  Thought it just added the perfect touch!
Sorry about the glare!
