Well Behaved Women Vintage Tag

 Happy End of Summer!  I've created a project that is TRULY out of my comfort zone!  I was a Creative Jumper this past winter and decided to try some of the techniques I learned.  I've always been afraid of trying out adding several different mediums on such a small work space!  But I have to say, this was so much fun and really a beautiful learning experience!  The paper was white afterall!  White!!  lol

I distressed, watered it down, distressed it more!  Then added white pigment, black flourishes, brown sepia main stamp image, distress the edges some more and added some lovely crackeled embellishments and flowers!  Ribbon at the top, and the project is complete!  Loved this tag!  If you want to see more of the projects I created for the Whimsy Stamps Magazine, see the free online issue here!

Butterfly Dreams

Come fly with me in my butterfly dreams!  Wouldn't you love to be so free?  I know I would!  Laze around amongst the flowers and simply flutter by!  I'm dreaming, I know!  ONE day left until the CHA trip to Vegas!  I'm so excited to meet the world of paper crafting designers, manufacturers and retailers!  Of course, it's not just going to be about that for the whole week!  Hubby and I are going to stay a bit longer and see the sights!  The gondola rides, the dueling pianist twins, the renown Blue Man Group, the Eiffel Tower and lights on the fountains at night!  This will be our very first trip together WITHOUT our children!  A new day is dawning!  I'll miss them, but I won't!  You know?

Mom, needing a break from the Florida heat anyway,  has flown in to care for the teen, house and pets . . . not to mention visit her relatives here as well so all is good!  Can't wait!

Today I want to share one of my favorite Shape EZ templates, the Butterfly sold at Whimsy Stamps.  The amount of possibilities with this template is staggering!  You can make it super simple, or really elaborate!  I think I've done the later here but some would say they could add even more??  Yikes!  I think enough of my inventory has been used, what do you think?

Yep!  That about sums it up all right!  KABOOM!  We're into summer for sure now and it's the first day of June!  The Shape EZ "TV" template was released just before the April Whimsy STamps Inspirations magazine and this RETRO style projects was splashed into the SHAPE EZ section!

The TV template comes with the flip portion of the card, the DP layer already sized for you and the frame of the TV too!  Just put your favorite colored image into the screen and make your own blast from the past come to life!  The template is available now in the Whimsy Stamps Store and is available in JPEG, PNG, PDF and SVG formats for easy use in a cutting machine or to hand cut yourself from a printed form.

Happy Bee Day!

Today, I want to share a really summer happy card made for that special "Bee Day"!  I put to use some terrific ribbons and textured Jute from the Really Reasonable Ribbon Store!

This Doily die was threaded with a combination of yellow seam binding, layered with diagonal stripe ribbon, and behind it all, the Jute made for a super textured feel to the card.  I got to take advantage of three different ribbons this time and I had a blast doing it!

Recycled leafs for Whimsy Stamps

Good morning all of my crafty friends!  I'm getting SO excited for summer to be here!  The heat is off and the Air isn't on!  The perfect sleeping weather has finally hit Michigan!

This Bold and masculine topper, I think, would be perfect for a cigar box or memory box for the birthday boy in your family!  Originally created for issue #11 of the Whimsy stamps Inspirations Magazine in Jan.  I think I've waited long enough to share with you all how I created it!  Be sure to click the magazine advertisement below for this and so many other beautiful and inspiring creations made with the affordable and completely adorable Whimsy Stamps products.

What I tried to do was come up with an original design created with the Leaf Trio Set that was both dimensional and rustic looking.  So . . . using some of the unusually textured, leather resembling papers from the unique online store, Creative Papers Online (one of my fav's!).  As a matter of fact they have a $50.00 bag of Scrapping goodies offered at only $12 right now and if you like any of the designs but aren't sure you want to commit to it, you can order a sample of any papers in the store for just .75 cents!  10 maximum at a time but how do you beat that?  Not to mention, they'll mail your paper right to your door!  

On to my design today, I first took some negative impressions from the ivory color and propped it off to one side for my edging then got to work on the leafs.  As you can see, I have cut each leaf three times more with coordinating papers, distress the edges with alternating Ranger Distress Inks and literally sewn down the center of each!  Pry the layers apart from each other and placed them down the center of the project.  I added some ribbon and the great Sentiment from Raindrop Echo Designs and zig zagged thread with my machine all the way around the edge.  One of my more out of the ordinary designs but I liked it in the end!  What do you think?
