On a Daffy March!

The end of October nearly!  My girl turned 20 and the boy is 15 this year!  Ugh!  Did I jut admit that?  Happy Birthday to both of them and today's card resembles the occasion.

Like I've said for the better part of October, I couldn't wait to get back into the mojo of making several cards a week with every theme possible.  The process keeps my creative juices flowing and without it I struggle so much more!

Today I'm getting back into the challenge swing with Sentimental Sundays.  We have a fabulous sponsor this week at Heart Song Designs and we want you to take and make something inspiring from your birth flower!  Did you know you had a birth flower?  Well, my birthday is in March and it turns out the Daffodil is for me.  So I've taken some inspiration that I first found in a tutorial on ScrapBitz blog.  I don't color flowers often and I wanted to give it a go.  With the Copic alone I couldn't seem to get the shading I wanted but then I added some Distress ink and liked the outcome much more.
There are always some free sentiments offered at Sentimental Sundays challenge sight and this week is Janne's choice so I hope you enjoy them and play this week with us all.  Be sure to stop in and say Hi to the DT as well.

On to the details of my card:  We want to see your Birth Flowers

Summer Whimsy

Have any of you ever had a four or five day gap between creating cards?  I was frustrated earlier this week trying to jump start some designs for the 4 or 5 cards  needed to get ahead of the ball and I simply had no motivation!  I though at first I had lost my mojo and was having creator's block!  So I went online to some challenges and I ran across a super cute card with an oval image surrounded by some special lace and loved it!  I hunted through the paper stacks and the drawers of embelli's and found that I too had the makings of an adorable but simple card.

Thought that was the end of the story huh?

Wrong . . . I sewed the dp's to the bazzill stock, picked out and colored the really cute Wags 'n Whiskers summertime image to match the dp and stared at it for another 20 minutes or so!

I literally ate an orange and POP!!  it came to me that this card needed a 3D beach parasol, some sea life dangles with some super silky waves!

By the time I was done twisting the wired ribbon into waves for the bottom left and adhering it, my mind ran into a circle image with a slit in it, then an accordian fold all the way around the circle . . . some really pretty web paper from my stash and the pole portion of a Jolee's fishing sticker pack for the pole!  And don't forget the paper pierced swim suit too with altered flower from stash!  The rest is history!

There are a lot of pics for this one as there is really a lot going on.  I literally had the best time making this card once I got that orange and I just couldn't stop adding! hehe !! I think if I put it in the craft sale this Sunday, someone is going to be a very lucky shopper!
